Storage Instructions
Store your OLIVA SERIE V MELANIO ROBUSTO 5 X 52 (10) in a properly conditioned humidor to preserve its flavour and structure. Aim for a stable relative humidity of 65 to 68% and a temperature of 68 to 70ºF (20 to 21ºC). Full-bodied Nicaraguan blends with a dark, oily wrapper perform best at slightly lower humidity towards the 65% end of that range to keep draw and burn even. Use a calibrated hygrometer and a reliable humidification system to avoid wide humidity swings. If you do not have a humidor, a travel humidor or airtight container with a quality humidification pack will protect cigars for short periods. Avoid direct sunlight, hot cars, and rapid temperature changes that can dry out tobacco or cause wrapper splitting.
Care Tips
Handle the OLIVA SERIE V MELANIO ROBUSTO 5 X 52 (10) gently to protect the wrapper. Hold by the band or body and avoid pinching or rolling the cigar between your fingers. Use a sharp guillotine or a reliable punch for a clean cut and toast the foot lightly before lighting to ensure an even burn. After purchase allow newly shipped or transported cigars to rest in your humidor for 1 to 2 weeks so they re-equilibrate. For enthusiasts who prefer a smoother, more integrated profile consider ageing these cigars for 6 months to a few years, noting that ageing will mellow some intensity while preserving core flavours. Rotate stock periodically so older cigars are used first and do not overcrowd the humidor to allow proper airflow. Inspect occasionally for mould and not for powdery white bloom which is harmless plume. Finally avoid refrigeration or freezing and keep cigars away from strong odours that can be absorbed by the wrapper and filler.
Reviews and Ratings
The Oliva Serie V Melanio Robusto has earned strong praise from critics and cigar lovers alike. Major publications such as Cigar Aficionado and Halfwheel have given favourable coverage to the Melanio line, and many reviewers remark on its consistent construction and bold flavour profile. If you do not find many reviews that focus specifically on the 5 x 52 robusto in the 10-count format, consider the general feedback for the Melanio line as a reliable indicator of quality and performance.

Tasting Notes
The OLIVA SERIE V MELANIO ROBUSTO 5 X 52 (10) is a decidedly full-bodied showcase of Nicaraguan craftsmanship, starting with an immediate surge of espresso and dark cocoa that gives way to savoury leather and aged cedar. Mid-smoke reveals a backbone of black pepper and toasted almond, balanced by a subtle molasses sweetness and a creamy, buttery finish from its well-aged ligero and capa. Aromas are rich and inviting—think roasted coffee beans, warm spice, and a whisper of earthy tobacco that lingers on the retrohale. Overall this Robusto marries power with refinement, delivering multi-layered complexity from first light to the final ash.
Pairing Suggestions
Añejo rum, a deeply aged rum with notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted oak complements the cigar’s molasses and dark chocolate tones, amplifying its sweetness while smoothing the peppery edges. Espresso (ristretto or Italian roast), the concentrated coffee intensity mirrors the cigar’s espresso-dark-cocoa character and sharpens the tobacco’s bittersweet nuances for a bold, harmonious contrast. 70%+ dark chocolate or a mature tawny port, the chocolate’s subtle bitterness and the port’s dried-fruit warmth both play beautifully with the cigar’s leather and cedar, enhancing its creamy finish and lingering spice.
